The batteries that will be used on the Munin Satellite are of Lithium Ion type, manufactured by
Duracel.
We have pictures showing the
li-ion battery and the
charging electronics prototype for the lithium-ion
battery.
The charger maximizes the charging current to 0.5 Amps and the voltage to 12.35 Volt. The charger has an efficency of approx. 80% and allows the supply voltage to be in the 15-25 Volt range witch suites the solarpannels. The battery pack has a capacity of 4200 mA at a nominal voltage of 10.8 Volt.
